Webelos (say WE- buh - lows) has a special meaning that Cub Scouts know. It is WE'LLBE LOYAL SCOUTS. |
|
The two fingers stand for two parts of the Promise - "to help other people" and "to obey".
They look like a wolf's ears ready to listen to Akela.
|
|
This means that you help and you obey the Law of the Pack.

The Cub Scout salute is a way to show respect. We salute the flag to show respect to our country.
When not wearing a uniform cap, touch your two fingers to your right eye brow.

Our children are often faced with choices affecting their development and safety.
As parents or guardians, we can do our best to provide education and guidance to
prepare our children to make the best decisions. One way that we do this is to
talk with our children. Some subjects are easy to discuss with our children --
sports, their grades in school, their friends and many other features of our daily
lives. Other things are more difficult for us to discuss, including child abuse
in all forms.
We do not expect your son will become a victim of child abuse. It is extremely important, however, that if he ever faces an abusive situation, he knows that there are adults in his life who will listen and respond in a supportive manner. The purpose of this exercise is to help you and your son establish or reinforce open communication on this sensitive topic. |
